Like a Princess
The moment the ship's horn sounds all passengers' hearts beat faster. This is the moment, the ship is ready to cast off. A great vacation is about to begin. Many guests stand on deck to watch this special moment, I feel so exited. Ship ahoy!
Having made a few cruises with destinations from Alaska to the Caribbean, the last one is always my favourite. My favourite day is the first day, when excitement is buzzing and all guests are ready to go on a great journey. Leaving port is the absolute highlight, what a memorable moment, every time.
I do miss this magic moment mentioned on Princess' first day list!? Going on a cruise makes you feel so very special. The fab food, the staff, the ship! My last destination was the Mexican Riviera, attending a three day seminar at sea and visiting three great stops on land days.
Mexico. Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan were all great. Never felt unsafe, ate the best food and met the friendliest people. At the dock we were greeted by a Mariachi band and the tequila tasting was fun, especially the one at a small local factory.
You can book tours prior to departure online or during the cruise onboard the ship. Transport with a/c and the guides speak English properly. You can also stay on the ship on land days, and relax at the pool. As a solo traveler you never feel lonely during a cruise. Exploring the ship is meeting someone new to talk to everywhere.
The cruise ship comes out so well in photos. Look for action, lines, details, people having fun. Storytelling in pictures is great onboard, there’s just so much Eyespiration! Try to pick the best moments to share the joy.
If you take a photo of the ship and a working funnel is in it, try to minimize the visible exhaust. Do not post photos with a slanted horizon. Look for the best light. And try to witness both the sun rise and the sun set, at open sea it’s truly enchanting.
It would be awesome to lead a photo walk or two onboard.
In travel, photos taken by guests are great social media content. Choose a good composition, look for the best captured moment and for a photo that tells a story. And how about a daily photo walk or workshop onboard teaching guests tips & tricks to take better photos?
Let the onboard photographers lead a workshop for guests, this is easily organised. A guideline can be created by me, an experienced photo walk leader and photographer. Happy sailing and keep on snapping and sharing those fab moments onboard!
